Angry Union Brewing had the opportunity to attend Brew at the Zoo in Miami. We had a great turnout and long lines. Check out the article in Miami New Times! They wrote “Angry Union, a crew of home brewing firemen who work for the City of Hollywood ran out of their 12-percent alcohol by volume Belgian brew little more than an hour after gates opened. Nevertheless people kept lining up for a just-bitter Donger American Pale Ale and the cooling Citra Spring Ale.”
Angry Union was invited to Big 105.9 to showcase their beer in a competition judged by Paul and Young Ron of the morning show. The winner received 4 free tickets and an opportunity to serve beer at Brew at the Zoo in Miami.
The competitors were Angry Union Brewing, Invasive Species, 2 Live Brews, and High Noon Brewing. Angry Union submitted our Belgium Brew Dog (12%) and ended up winning the competition!
We will be at Brew at the Zoo with our winning beer and also our Citra Ale (5%), Poolside Pilsner (5.84%), and Donger APA (6%). Make sure you stop by and say hello and have some ANGRY brews on us!
Here are a few photos from the competition.

The Coconut Cup homebrew competition began thirteen years ago as a challenge between the Miami Area Society of Homebrewers (MASH) and the Ft. Lauderdale Area Brewers (FLAB) homebrewing clubs. Participation has grown to include other Florida homebrewing clubs and we have invited homebrewers from all over to participate in our competition. 2013′s Coconut Cup was the twelfth Coconut Cup sanctioned by the Beer Judge Competition Program / American Homebrewers Association.
